Great historic place to stay

What a great place! It is an historic building and the bedrooms and public rooms ooze history. An unexpected gem

We found ourselves in Poughkeepsie and needed two rooms for the night. Unluckily all hotels were fully booked so I checked "www.tripadvisor.com" in hope for a room. A Nice Experience

I had no idea that Vassar had accomodations available to the public. I found out by reading their web site. The "House" is a converted mansion adjacent to the beautiful Vassar campus. Unusual - and nice !

The Vassar Alumnae House -now open to the public, by reservatioin- is a great architectural example from the 1920s, with many original features (including lighting, window treatments, hardware on doors, floors, and wall panelling).
