I took a quick peek at the public first floor areas of the Marsh Harbour Inn but didn't look inside any of the guest rooms. I was frankly appalled at the public areas. The Marsh Harbour Inn is very attractive and nicely appointed. It's a bit less personal than many bed and breakfasts - you aren't expected to make stilted conversation with strangers. In fact, the breakfasts are located off-site - within easy walking or golf carting distance at the River Pilot Cafe. 2.0: Marsh Harbour Inn - not paying enough attention to details

We stayed at the Marsh Harbour Inn on Bald Head Island for 5 nights in August 2005. The staff was very nice and the inn was very attractive but we had a few problems that made us question if we should have asked for some type of refund. 2.0: Look elsewhere

I spent a long weekend on Bald Head Island as part of a wedding. The island itself is an amazing escape from reality - the pace of life on the island is tranquil and slow. Unfortunately, there are few places to stay on the Island and I have to say that the Marsh Harbour Inn, although a nice place to stay, missed. Perhaps the worst feature is the 10:30am check out time. This is incredibly early, especially considering that the goal is to have a lazy time on the island. This is not offset by an early check in - you cannot check in until 3:30pm. The only ...
