4.0: A bit old, but overall good

Despite being taken aback by the relatively small size of the upstairs rooms this hotel was nice. It is older but NOT run-down, so expect some of the things that go with that. This is a wonderful place to stay. Reasonably priced. The view of Chimney Rock is straight outside your back door. The lodge is right on the French Broad River. The owners were extremely hospitable. Thank you to the hosts for a welcoming stay. We drove all the way from Pittsburgh directly to Chimney Rock, so by the time that we got to the Lodge it was almost 10 pm.
