Not a great place

The accomodations were minimal. There was no clock or hairdryer in the room and the furnishings were shabby. This was certainly not what I expected for the rate that was charged and I would not book this accomodation again. The lodge charges a $25 per night fee when you book ... I cannot believe this place. We have been vacationing in Highlands, NC for years and have always stayed at one of the hotels down town. If you like staying in a musty smelling, terribly decorated room, then this is your place. When we arrived, all the windows were open & it was freezing in the room. I have visited Highlands oon several occasions, staying the past to summers at the Skyline Lodge. It is off 64, just outside of town, heading toward Cashiers.
