Located in Ward County in the north central part of North Dakota, Minot has around 37,000 people. Sometimes referred to as the "Magic City," it is a significant center for freight services because of its location. One interesting aspect about Minot is that the Souris River goes through its middle so a valley is carved from the flat prairie. Right now, this city is basically a quite suburban area, but it has not always been this way because it was where alcohol was smuggled into the country in the past.
Minot can be described as unusual because it is neither a small town nor is it a cosmopolitan city; it is a little of both and its struggle to find its identity makes Minot a very interesting city. Except during the State Fair and the Hostfest which are the biggest event in the area; accommodations are relatively easy to find. For budget conscious travelers, Minot Family Hotels we recommend include the Super 8 Motel and the Select Inn.
Meanwhile, travelers who want to splurge a little more can stay at Minot Family bed and breakfast such as the Days Inn, the Comfort Inn, the Best Western Kelley Inn, and the Dakota Inn. There are many other Minot Family Hotels for you to choose from.
