The rooms were very worn. The sofa bed looked like it would fall apart if you sat on it.
The rest of the room had molding falling off the doors, poorly painted patch jobs for previous holes in the walls, and filthy carpeting.

At 3:30 am the smoke detector began chirping every few minutes. I heard that sometimes, if it's very warm, the heat will make them do that. So we turned up the air conditioner.
