Bad hosts, unclean and overall poor experience!
The area was very nice, the inn itself was good (our room was not the cleanest though-stains on the comforter if you know what I mean!!)and the host was a bit overbearing! Beautiful romantic inn overlooking the harbor
After reading some of the posts about Payne's, I thought I would add my 2 cents even though my stay was a year ago. I absolutely loved Payne's. Must Read this Review of Block Island!
This was our first trip to Block Island 8/17-8/19. Coming from Long Island we took the one hour Montauk Viking Ferry to the New Harbor dock, which is very close to Payne’s Harbor View Inn. Not for everyone but just right for us!
We just love to "get away" from it all, usually off-season which we did last year at the Old Town Inn. It was perfect for us, even though it's a hike to the town and beaches. Fabulous!
Old Town Inn is probably one of the best places to stay on Block Island! The Inn is beautifully decorated, immaculate, rooms are very good size and the delicious breakfast is one of the best we've ever had at any hotel, or B & B!
