ok i used to hate lorrainne then, as i grew up and began to mature, haha, i understood how much of a job she has, she is the ONLY front desk clerk of the hotel, all year long, all the while she takes care of her several dogs (and sometimes puppies), and her parents. she has a reason to be so upt... A truly unique experience
The Surf Hotel was a truly unique experience for me. It was my first time going to Block Island and I was alone for most of the trip. The guests and staff were warm and friendly, the location was perfect and the free breakfast was very good. Faithful to the Surf
I have gone to the Surf for over 25 years and always feel comfortable there. I have never had an unpleasant exchange with any staff member there. The rooms are clean, the lobby/living room is set up with board games. There is a piano and a tv, books to read and the lovely little well behaved dogs... By A Yahoo! Checked in and was instructed to walk down the street to a three story house. Disappointed as we were hoping to experience a classic hotel with a direct view of the water. Great Memories

I used to stay at the Surf Hotel for 2 weeks each summer. I loved the time there, it felt like family. The same families would go the same weeks each summer and it was like a reunion.
