This is a warning to anyone thinking of booking this hotel. We were horrified by the cleanliness of our room. This hotel is awful. There is a stench throughout the whole hotel. The rooms in the back are basement units so the windows are high and your head is level with the surface of the parking lot. We stayed at the Newport Gateway for two nights in late May, a Thursday and a Friday. Their rates change depending on the day of the week, but we were able to negotiate a lower Friday price because we arrived on Thursday.
