However, guests here are sheltered from the constant pedestrian traffic and noise--this hotel offers quieter surroundings than the Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium, which sits at the center of the touristy Parkway and is the core of the town's trolley system. The slightly modern-looking tan-colored building with stone accents gives guests a hint of the interiors--nearly everything about this hotel is large, grand and a reflection of the Great Smoky Mountains.The large, open lobby shows a mix of wood floors and carpeting that's in great shape. Several comfortable sitting areas, surrounded by stone and wood walls and large windows, are in good condition, and guests are frequently seen relaxing over conversation. Basically nothing about our stay here was close to satisfactory. It was my birthday weekend and was a horrible experience from beginning to end. The room we were told we would get when we booked...a 2 queen bed non-smoking room overlooking the indoor pool...was never produced. Upon check-in, no rooms were ready. We were on a time schedule because my daughter had to get ready for her cheer competition. When I called ealier in the day telling them we would need to ... Worse than I imagined

My husband and I returned from the Glenstone Lodge yesterday. I was not expecting it to be quite as bad as it was.
