I have been a patron of Trip Advisor for years and have used its reviews from readers like you to plan wonderful trips across the globe. Therefore, I believe it is my responsibility to implore all potential visitors of the Running R Ranch to explore other options across the great state of Texas. My experiences follow: I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Running R Ranch. They are beneficiaries of breathtaking landscape, bright blue skies, and an even more spectacular 5,500 acre state park that borders the ranch’s property. The trails were well maintained and the horses well trained. The meals were hardy and plentiful and the lodging was clean and comfortable -- all things that one would expect for the lofty price tag (2 people cost $800 for 3 nights). The trouble with this particular ranch, is that they do not have anything that all other ranches in Bandera, TX do not have. All ranches benefit from Texas’s bright skies and rolling hills. Giddy up! We loved this place so much that we can't get back there fast enough for our 2nd visit!! We were on a long weekend get-a-way in San Antonio and got bored. We had noticed the Running R Ranch in a magazine in the hotel and called them. As fate would have it, there had been a cancellation so we were fortunate to get into the last cabin!
