WE stayed at Canyon and a few helpful hints, The vanishing river cruise was not worth your time. It has been abbreviated due to low water and does not go out as far or does not take you to the falls due to low water. If you're looking for a fun family retreat take my advice and look further. This hotel does NOT cater to children (or anyone for that fact). Beautiful views on Lake Buchanan! Swim, take a cruise on the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, hike, fish, boat, canoe, see beautiful wildflowers in the Spring. I am the mother of 2 children and visited Canyon of the Eagles for a short getaway before school started again. We had so much fun reconnecting as a family at this lodge. We had a blast at Canyon of the Eagles. The rooms are so cute, rustic, clean, and feels just like a country lodge.
