good location if one has no car.

A great place for aficionados old hotels
Two things anyone contemplating a stay at the Gardner should keep in mind is that it's an old 1920s hotel; i.e., no sushi bars or saunas, and that being primarily a hostel, there's no offstreet parking. For $150/ week, you can't beat the good ole Gardner. The rooms are adequately clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
