Great for a getaway

My husband booked our stay here as a surprise getaway for us, including roses and chilled champagne waiting for us upon our arrival and massages scheduled for the next day. We were in the San Antonio room, located in the main lodge. The room was bright and sunny, the bed was comfortable, and its bathroom includes a jacuzzi tub. There was a TV/VHS in the room, and there is a large VHS/DVD library from which to select a movie, if there's nothing on TV you'd like to watch. As our primary goal was rest and relaxation, we enjoyed getting to watch a movie lying in bed in our room in the evenings. The Blair House Inn a Glaring Mistake

We booked one of the archangel cottages for 3 weeknights for some R&R. We just wanted quiet, privacy and sleep. We got in late at 9 pm because bad weather slowed down our 4-hours+ driving trip. We notified the owners at 7 pm that we would be late. When we arrived we were told by a guest at the main house that the owners "had left the building". We needed 2 extra bath towels because all they left us were 2 towels for 2 adults. For $250+ a night we expected and needed 4 towels. The owners were not ... CarolMocha, a user of Tripadvisor. Great Get Away, Even Better Cooking School!

My wife and I absolutely loved this place. We came for the BBQ cooking school (actually, I went to class, she ate the results) and had a great time. I really didn't know what to expect from the BBQ class, but it went way beyond anything I imagined. Part of me was expecting to put a brisket on in the morning, do a few sauces, then wrap it up by the evening...not even close. Blair House Inn -- A Treasure in the Hill Country!

Our third visit to this exquisite inn was this past June. We had a milestone birthday to celebrate, and also needed a bit of a relaxing vacation.
