Actually, the name "Fife N Drum" is accurate in describing the decor and amenities, which last were updated during the days when George Washington was preparing to cross the Delaware.

What a wonderful surprise

Downtown Bennington seemed too congested and noisy, so we drove just 1 1/2 miles south to find the Fife'n Drum Motel. It was one of the nicest and definitely the cleanest of our entire trip.
