We like to stay in locally-owned hotels, so booked a one-night stay at the Hotel Coolidge - found it on the internet. The staff was friendly and directed us to restaurants in Hanover (5-minute drive away) that were perfect for us - a family with 2 small children. A Pleasant Stop Along the Way
Coolidge Hotel is a trip back in time to the 20's. It is old but well cared for and still has the splendid wide wooden staircases and stained trim. We arrived in the sleepy little downtown of White River Junction on a Friday. The hotel was right out of the history books. I got a good deal on the price, so I wanted to check it out.
