Don't believe the promotional material!
I was pretty disappointed at my recent stay at the Inn at Swift's Bay. I had seen that this inn had been on lots of lists (Best Places to Stay, Best Places to Kiss, etc) and based my reservation on those recommendations. Big mistake! ... latte, a user of Tripadvisor. Read full review on tripadvisor

Slipping Service at Swift's Bay
Over the last 10 years, we have stayed at the Inn at Swift's Bay four times. Our first stay was our first time at a B&B and it was fabulous. Robert and Chris, our innkeepers made us feel totally pampered and we feasted on meals that were beyond belief. Robert was the most engaging and wonderful innkeeper that I have met in the last 10 years. Alas, they sold the property before we could return and our last three visits have been with two subsequent owners. The current innkeeper, Hasaan, is a pleasant man, but ill at ease with being an innkeeper. We noticed subtle differences ... A TripAdvisor Member, a user of Tripadvisor. Horrible Experience
We were traveling to the San Juan Islands for the first time and found the Inn at Swifts Bay on the internet. The inn's internet site quoted reviews it had received from the "Los Angeles Times", "Frommer's Guide to Washington State", "Food & Wine Magazine" and many other well known sources. The Inn's home page says the are 'recognized nationally as one of the finest B&Bs in the San Juan Islands...". On the basis of these overwhelming positive reviews we decided to reserve a room for two nights - May 17th and 18th. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was that the Inn was for sale. ...
