The Woodland Park Zoo is unlike other zoos in the country. It has been operating for more than 100 years and has garnered 6 major exhibit awards. Within the 92 acres of land, there are thousands of plant species and hundreds of animals that exist only in unique habitats from all bioclimatic zones, such as the tropical rainforests and the tundra of the North. The zoo also protects 35 endangered species. The park to visit is the Golden Gardens Park, which was developed by Harry W. Treat in 1907. It has two wetlands, a loop trail, forest trails, a boat launch, and an area for off-leash dogs. The museum of history refers to the Log House Museum, which displays artifacts about the history of the Duwamish Peninsula and the Birth of Seattle. And if the couple wanted a broad cultural experience, they can proceed to the Seattle Art Museum that has intensive collections of artworks and artifacts from across cultures.
