If you are planning a romantic getaway in Green Bay, Wisconsin, then you have chosen a city that has its own romantic history. The area where Green Bay is now located was first occupied by Woodland Indian tribes who simply identify it as the area around which the Fox River empties into. Then, the first wave of immigrants came. They were the French voyagers who called the area La Baie Verte. They were followed by fur trappers, and then the Jesuit missionaries.
