Top La Crosse Things to Do
Although it is not a popular place to vacation, La Crosse truly is a hidden gem in rural western Wisconsin (if not the only gem in all of Wisconsin), featuring romantic sites, a close view of the nearby Mississippi River, numerous romantic restaurants with affordable gems, and numerous natural attractions easily accessed by foot or car. Also boasting the most elegant lodging in western Wisconsin, you won't find locally owned hotels here, but you will find hotels fitted for elegance and romance.
For starters, nearby Onalaska, which is actually considered part of La Crosse, offers numerous hotels surrounded by local restaurants and shopping malls. Although smaller rooms are a disappointment, they offer spacious suites fitted with whirlpools and a quiet view of nearby La Crosse. There are hotels available in La Crosse as well, but even those aren't as nice as the ones available in Onalaska. Hotels are typically more expensive in downtown La Crosse also.
