Great value for a clean austere little cabin

We checked in a bit late in the evening August 2006 and it was just beginning to rain. There was this incredible lighting show in the far sky and the temperature was beginning to drop. The desk staff at the Main Lodge was very helpful in getting us checked in and giving us directions.

After reading prior reviews of this place I wasnt expecting to much. I'll start with the negatives. Central Locale

We stayed at the Canyon Lodge (not the cabins) over the Fourth of July. The locatio is great for visiting other areas of the park, not much more than an hour away from anything, but the lodge buildings are fairly set back from the main Canyon complex and a bit too far away from the "Grand Canyon"... Renovated Western Cabin was great

We booked one night in a renovated Western Cabin about a year in advance. We had 2 queen beds and our 5th person (a child) was permitted to have a sleeping bag on the floor.
