Stay for the History, not comfort

The history of the Old Faithful Inn is very interesting and prompted us to stay. As most travel shows indicate and pictures show, the lobby is beautiful - what architecture. Great Location, Dingy, Filthy Rooms

The Old Faithful Inn lobby and nearby amenities are nice but the two rooms we had were filthy and worn. The carpet was torn and dirty and coming up in one room and the carpet in both rooms and the hallway should have been replaced long ago. Upon initial entry I found a beverage straw, a partially... Worth small inconveniences to stay at this historical inn

My wife, late-teens daughter and I stayed at the Old Faithful Inn in early July 2007. We had a "premium" room with two double beds and private bath in the East Wing. Just awful!

Our room was absolutely awful. (Room 210). Since there is no A/C, we opened our windows to hear the noisy kitchen fans run from sun up to late night and inhale the kitchen aromas from frying bacon in the AM to steaks in the PM.
